What do i do if my friend is about to get MARRIED at a young age?

should i tell her she's too young ?

she going to court to make it official in august, but she's having the real wedding next year and she'll only be 19!!!

isn't that too young ??

what should i tell her... i don't want her to make the wrong choice.. she's only knew da guy for 3 years and she says that they are in love...

should i just let them be and be happy for them ?What do i do if my friend is about to get MARRIED at a young age?
When it comes to things like marriage, your not going to change ones mind. Theres about a one percent chance. The best thing you can do is support your friend, be happy for her. If it works out, great, if it doesn't, hopefully you'll still be there to give her a shoulder. Thats about all you can do dear! :DWhat do i do if my friend is about to get MARRIED at a young age?
Yes let them be happy. She will do what she wants anyway.

There is nothing wrong with asking her if she is sure and talking with her about it but, if you try to stop it you will just be seen as the bad guy.

The only sure way to remain friends is to support her and hope the best for her even if you are right.

Remember, she is happy right now and if you make her feel bad about this then she will not want to be around you.
Wow, you're really not going to like my answer, but here it goes...

I know you're just concerned about your friend, but please don't try to project what you would do onto her. This is HER choice to make, not yours! When you're 19 and have been with someone for ';only'; three years, then by all means, don't get married that soon. But this is her life! It may very well be the wrong choice for you, but maybe it's the right one for her.

Besides, you'll only make her mad.
19? whoa that's so ok.

we had lotsa 16 year olds getting pregnant here

the worst thing is, they're most outside of marriage.

so as for marriage, and at 19, oh well...

losing virginity before 20 is believed to be the best, according to most people

and having babies after marriage always make a happy news, opposes pregnancy out of marriage, where large majority of them would be a big bad news

so. 19. why not?
I was married at 20 and have been happily married for five years. If she think this is the right decision, you should support her and be happy for her. Just let them be, its not your decision to make and unless she asks for your advice, your friendship is better off with you not giving it.
Not to be rude but who are to day she is to young to get married?Believe it or not there are some mature 19 yr old and then there are some that are not.It depends on the 2 people get married and how seriously they take it ..I was 19 when I got engaged and got married at 20. I'm still married 25years later
My parents were 20 and they have been married 34 years and counting. I was 20 and my husband was 19 and we have been married nearly 5 years so far. My grandparents got married at 18 until my grandad died.

Loads of people get married at that age and its successful
3 years is longer than most, its not your life, your not in her shoes, she can truly love him and you want to stop that? if they want to get married , then let them.

Has anyone here been married on a cruise?

I believe carnival cruise lines does it, and I live only a couple of hours away from the port in Baton Rouge so I was just wondering about it. My wedding is a couple of years away so I have time to save up some money. I just want to know what it is like, if it saves a lot of hassle, etc. Thanks in advance guys!Has anyone here been married on a cruise?
My husband and I got married on a Carnival Cruise almost 5 years ago. It was wonderful for us, of course it was a second wedding for both of us and it did save a lot of hassle. It was just the two of us and we got married in the Bahamas and had our honeymoon all in one. My brother and sister-in-law also got married on a cruise they were on the Princess line and had lots of family to go as well and it made a great vacation for all. The cruise line takes care of everything but your dress and if your guy wants he can even get a tux on board but has to reserve it when you make your reservation. I would say give the cruise lines a call just to start getting some info. I know that Carnival has a wedding specialist that actually handles your event from the time you reserve to make sure everything is planned the way you want it, and once you get on board they also have a wedding specialist to assist you with getting any last minute details taken care of (ours drove us to get our license and helped me get into my dress before the ceremony since I didn't have any attendants. I had a great experience with the whole process.Has anyone here been married on a cruise?
I saw a couple get married on a cruise...along with several hundred other passengers. The couple seemed very embarrassed about the situation but we were all standing in a long line around them. So make sure you have some privacy from little ones screaming they need to go to the bathroom......

The other thing I've seen that didn't impress me was the quality of photographs. I've seen two sets from co-workers and the pictures closely resembled prom pictures. Nothing personal and nothing around the boat. All were just taken in the same area they were married in.
You actually have to get legally married while on U.S. soil but you can have a ceremony on the boat...

If two people are married and only one works, they have children- would it profit them more to file their?

taxes as married or for one parent to file head of household and carry all the children. They are eligible for a refund. If two people are married and only one works, they have children- would it profit them more to file their?
If only one works, then it really makes no difference. My husband and I file separate for a different reason, but I keep the children under mine, and we still get the same amount back that we would if we both filed. If two people are married and only one works, they have children- would it profit them more to file their?
I believe that filing jointly will result in a bigger refund.
If you are married and live together you have two choices. Married Filing Joint or Married Filing Separately. The later (MFS) is rarely an advantage. Head of Household is not an option if you are married and live together. You may know people that do that but it is not legal and they will pay penalties when they are discovered. If only one of you has income it is also unlikely that you would get a greater refund. I sure know that people do some strange things and get these really big refunds but it is also true that the bigger the fraud the bigger the penalty (Jail Time if on a large scale). The best way to handle your taxes is to contact a tax professional, they frequently save you more than the cost of their service and provide peace of mind that you have filed properly.
You can't file head of household if you're married. You're only options are married filing joint or married filing separate. In your situation, I'll almost guarantee that it'll benefit them more to file as MFJ rather then MFS. For more information on filing status, check out IRS publication 501 (linked below).

From the IRS website:

';Head of Household

You may be able to file as head of household if you meet all the following requirements.

1. You are unmarried or “considered unmarried” on the last day of the year.

2. You paid more than half the cost of keeping up a home for the year.

3. A “qualifying person” lived with you in the home for more than half the year (except for temporary absences, such as school). However, if the “qualifying person” is your dependent parent, he or she does not have to live with you. See Special rule for parent, later, under Qualifying Person.';
You are not allowed to file head of household if you're married. Your choices are married filing joint, or married filing separate. Under some fairly rare circumstances, filing separate might be better, but that would be very unusual in the circumstances you describe.

And by the way, tax rates are higher for head of household than for married filing joint. H of H is a lot better than single, though.
You have to file as married. Since only one spouse is working and the only source of income, it would be better to file jointly.
you can still file married, it wont make any difference I dont work either.
yes because you are using them as dependents and you get more money i think.
i believe the one working should file as head of household and married. thats what i did for the six years i was married..i was not working and my ex was..we always got a nice refund back...good luck!
There are so many confusing answers. No you can file Head of Household. If married and living together, you have no choice, well it's a better choice just to file Married Jointly. One reason is, most ppl get the exemption part confused as that is going to be a refund. Which it isn't. Married filing Jointly even if one make income and they have children is a lot better. Yes u still get the Earn Income Credit, which is the refund a lot of ppl look forward too. The exemptions are just to lower your income amount, which ppl c as; single $4,500- Head of household- $7,500...ect...

These figures only deduct ur income amount...ex. u make 25,000 , then the expetion of married filing jointly is $9,500 that is subtracted from 25, 000 which now it 14,000. then you have the personal exemptions and dependents at 3,100 each person...so if it's u, ur husban, and 3 kids...then that is 3,100 times 5 which is 15,500..that is subtracted from the 14,000 which make ur tax liability income -0-...then later the credits are federal withheld comes in to give u a refund.

Why do people get married and still want to do other people?

Why can't people make up their mind? If you want to have the freedom to do anybody you find attractive then do yourself a favor: don't get married. If you are not ready to be monogamous, you are not ready to be married. Why do people get married and still want to do other people?
I agree with what you are saying, except for the ';do anybody you find attractive'; part. Freedom from relationships doesn't mean free to hump everything. That is a sign of loneliness too.Why do people get married and still want to do other people?
Because they don't know what they TRULY want. All of us are looking for something and, if we're fortunate enough, we find it. For those who are still searching and married, pitty on the person that agreed to be their spouse, They should have dug a little deeper before they agreed to give up the rest of their life with that person that's looking for somebody else.
Some didn't enter marriage thinking they wanted to cheat. They actually had the best of intentions when they married. And after years of trying different things to make it work. Talking to the spouse about what they feel is wrong.

They get to the point of, they just don't care. They know there are risks in cheating.

They know it's wrong. But since they stopped caring about the marriage, and honestly think they tried.

It gets to the point where they think they are not wrong. They feel and think if my spouse had tried like I did. I wouldn't be cheating.

I haven't cheated on my marriage. But have thought about it. And actually have a list in my head, of the reasons why I want to. And why I should.
I agree with you. I was married for eighteen years to a constantly unfaithful man. I stayed for the benefit of my children, but now they are 20 and 15 and I left two years ago.

Don't give up on the idea that no one is monogamous. There are actually people who WANT to be married to only one person for life and have no other! Good luck.
Some people have no idea how to make up their mind. Some people have no desire, feeling that everyone exists to feed their desires, to hell with who gets hurt. Some people never learned to put the most basic desires aside for the greater good.

Some people lie not only to everyone else, but to themselves and rationalize their behavior in webs that would strangle a spider.

A million reasons.
its the thrill of the chase

if the woman dont have as much sex as he likes to its possible he could cheat

if he wants variety and is getting bored

he could be a player and players needs lots of sex from differant woman.

usually its the thrill of not getting caught

having the power to do it gives u power which means more pleasure
Very good point, but for some reason a lot of women feel it necessary to manipulate, nag, give ultimatums to try and force guys into marriage and relationships. Then later on, they cant figure out why it fell apart.
I believe in being faithful to your spouse or mate. Yet some people are sexual addicts who love the idea of being with someone other than there mate. It does not mean they dont love the person they are with but their sexual needs are more than one person can have.

They want their cake and eat it too. They just don't realize what they are losing. Some are soulless and have no conscience. Those kind will never change and should not get married, but keep on getting married and breaking hearts and families.
Greed is a nasty emotion.

Combine greed with boredom %26amp; the atmosphere is fertile for cheating.

And we are a society of VERY greedy %26amp; bored people these days.
I TOTALLY AGREE...My ex husband started to cheat after only 6 months of being married to me.I don't understand the mental strain behind it.I don't think that its fair for them to take someone on a joy ride.
selfish, no control... give in to temptation.

as soon as marriages get tough, people run... its sad. marriages do not run smoothly and def don't run themselves. its a full time job.

That is the million dollar question.

I wish I had the answer.
selfishness
once you've figured that out, you let me know.....people are so full of Shet
that, my dear is the question. it will never be answered

  • Do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married?

I was wondering, do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married. How much per month is it?Do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married?
no, you dont get paid for being married, the only thing you get is BAH which pays for you to have a place to live.Do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married?
Separate rations and BAH if they reside off post. If they reside on post, then just the separate rations for food.
Yes you do, but that money is supposed to go toward food and rent (if living off post). Alot of the young soldiers think that all us married guys are rolling in dough, but thats just because they think our BAH (basic allowance for housing) and BAS are all money to use at the bars. BAH is calculated for the area you are stationed. If the cost of living is high where you are stationed, the more BAH you get, also in certain areas you get COLA, basically more money to compensate for very high cost of living
base pay does not increase. BAH is based on duty station zip code and paygrade. There are 2 rates: with and without dependents. once you get married you are entitled to the with dependent rate, even as an E1.
    yes and no

The typical unmarried soldiers, who live in the barracks gets around 600 to 700 every 2 weeks. Free meals in the chow hall and don't have to pay rent. The money that they make goes to absoulrtely nothing. Maby a car payment and insurance, internet and cable.

Married soldiers have rent, gas, electric, gas for their vehicle, cable, internet, food for the whole family, diapers, formula, clothing and a host of other things.

Im stationed in Alaska and my pay is just enough to break even.

    Seperate rations (Food Money): $228

    Rent : $800

    Car +Insurance About : $500

    Heat :$100

    Internet + Cable :$100

    Diapers wipes etc. :$100+

    Basic Allowance for Housing :$1400

You do the math, being married just costs more, especially with kids. So, it might look like you get paid alot on you check, but the average married soldier has alot more to pay out than the non married . No extra money for the bar, clothes or anything else, just enough to get by. But, Medical, Life Insurance etc. also get taken out of you check just like a single soldier.
In a way, yes. You receive BAH to help pay for a place to live. The amount of BAH you receive depends upon where you live.
you actually get bah which is money to live off post and you also get bas which is seperate rations which is money for food.the amount of money you get depends on what state and city you live in. i was the nco of the orderly room and prepared these documents for soldiers everyday
yes you get an extra 10,000 dollars a month

If Triple H wasnt married to Steph, do you think he would be as popular as he is today?

Like I was watching him last night and thinking about this and I think the answer is yes. He has the right look, excellant mic skills, and hes just a good entertainer. What do you think? If Triple H wasnt married to Steph, do you think he would be as popular as he is today?
I think he would still be just as popular, I just don't think he'd have anywhere near as much power backstage. If Triple H wasnt married to Steph, do you think he would be as popular as he is today?
He'd be more popular. He willingly took a backseat to other guys as of late because of the relationship.
i agree with jason, but i dont think he would have won that many titles seeing as shawn michaels has only won a couple and i think shawn michaels is better then HHH.

My son is getting married in July. What are my financial responsibilities?

I am making the wedding cake, catering the event for 200.(preparing all the food etc.) My future dil is saying I am to buy all the flowers. Any advice? My son is getting married in July. What are my financial responsibilities?
What everyone has said is true: the son's parents only pay for the rehearsal dinner and sometimes they pitch in for the tuxedos but it's not their obligation to do so. They also pay for the bride's bouquet, which is usually around $200. Those are the ONLY flowers they pay for, however. You are being VERY generous paying for and catering the entire event. That should be enough in and of itself. It sounds to me like this girl's parents either don't have much money %26amp; can't afford it or they are just being cheap and wanting to pawn things off on you. You need to quickly determine which it is. If it's just that they are poor or have fallen on hard times and can't afford to give their daughter the wedding she's always wanted, then I would be tempted to offer to pay for the flowers to help them out....but you should see it as that....helping them...not as your obligation.

    I know this will be a sensitive topic so here's what I would do: I would go to Barnes %26amp; Noble in the wedding section and buy a small guidebook to weddings that clearly has a section on who pays for what. Most wedding guidebooks do. Then I would take the book to the DIL and innocently %26amp; sweetly say ';hi - I went to the bookstore and picked up this book because I wasn't sure who was supposed to pay for what in a wedding but then I started looking at the other sections and there is some great information in here! I thought you might appreciate having it in case you want to look up anything. If you don't want it, that's ok but I just thought you might like it.';

That way, you are clearly showing her you know you aren't supposed to pay for the flowers but it comes off as you just being really sweet w/ this nice gesture. My son is getting married in July. What are my financial responsibilities?
You have absolutely NO financial obligations to your son. What you are doing now is plenty and being done out of love. Your future DIL and son need to contribute something to the ceremony instead of just the vows. Trust me, if they work for it they will appreciate it so much more. If they have to pay for the flowers they will get some they can afford; however, if you are forced to pay for the flowers the sky's the limit as far as price is concerned.
If you are paying for the food for 200,making and decorating a wedding cake. What are the in laws (daughter) paying for?? Put the total cost of what it has cost you, and ask what will there contribution be??The cost of the wedding should be traditionaly the girls perents(dowry) If this isnt so, then the costs should be shared. If they refuse . Then give your son the cake and two hundred pounds wedding gift,Stop being taken for a mug!! Im talking from exerience. In just over a year, my son got divorced, leaving me with a large bill that took almost two years to clear. In answer to your question NONE Best Wishes and Good Luck for the future. Big Al
You don't ';have'; to do anything. I think it's really nice that you're offering your catering and baking services, and if that's what you are comfortable doing, then you're fine. If you can't afford to do anything else or don't want to spend more money, there is NOTHING wrong with that. If your son and his future wife can't afford their own wedding, there's no rule that says anyone HAS to pay for anything.
If you are doing all that, it's time to tell her it's her turn. Give her a choice: you do the food or you do the flowers. You are NOT responsible for all that you are doing. How did you get roped into all that? No must not be in your vocabulary.
    according to tradition, it is the brides parents who are supposed to pay for the wedding and the grooms parents who are supposed to pay for the honeymoon. but technically, none of it is your ';responsibility';
Rehearsal dinner, incuding food and entertainment.

    Your own clothing and attire.

    Any travel expenses.

    A wedding gift.
Traditionally the bride's parents are TOTALLY responsible for the wedding expenses. The groom's parents are responsible for the rehearsal dinner.
Tell your DIL that her parents are supposed to pay for it ALL! according to tradition.

    She sounds very selfish.

NO is a powerful word...........you should use it some time.

    Good luck
