Can i file separately? Can i file my 07 taxes if i havent filed my 06 yet? I m waiting for my 06 in the mail? and if I'm married?
U should get with either your tax person or the IRS.

U probably can file 07 without knowing 06 yet..

But often u can use data off the previous years return as deductables on the next year.

Ie; the cost of doign the return is a deductable.

Since most people get refunds on their returns, it follows that if u file the return by feb of a year you should have it long before apr 15.Can i file my 07 taxes if i havent filed my 06 yet? I m waiting for my 06 in the mail? and if I'm married?
You can file both your returns together!!

See here how you can file your prior year taxes and your current year -

You file the years in either order.

Yes, you can choose to file separately.
You can file your 2007 tax return before filing your 2006 but if you are due a refund for the 2007 tax return IRS will hold the refund until your 2006 is received and processed. After you have filed you 2007 return IRS will send you a letter telling you they are holding the refund and will let you know that 2006 (and any other years from 2001 to 2006) has not been filed and the refund is on hold, IRS holds the check in case you owe they can offset to the balance owed.

IF IRS does hold your refund there will be a different address you must mail you 2006 return.
