Did Elizabethan women get a choice as to whom they married?

well did they have a choice, please state your resources as this is part of my english GCSE coursewok.Did Elizabethan women get a choice as to whom they married?
Contrary to common belief, women of this period and earlier periods did have the choice of who they wanted to marry and did not want to marry. Sometimes they even went to court to re enforce their decision if their families disagreed with them.

The belief that they did not have the choice was a misconception perpetrated by the Victorian male to subjugate their women. The Victorians distorted a lot of the truth of history to meet and cover up their own failings to society.Did Elizabethan women get a choice as to whom they married?
If you are completing your GCSE course work, you should be at a standard to be able to find this information out in your Learning Resource Centre.
Oh come on. Arranged marriages in England were still going on at the start of WWI.

Don't know why we now think it's such a big deal, when it is still practised.
