I believe carnival cruise lines does it, and I live only a couple of hours away from the port in Baton Rouge so I was just wondering about it. My wedding is a couple of years away so I have time to save up some money. I just want to know what it is like, if it saves a lot of hassle, etc. Thanks in advance guys!Has anyone here been married on a cruise?
My husband and I got married on a Carnival Cruise almost 5 years ago. It was wonderful for us, of course it was a second wedding for both of us and it did save a lot of hassle. It was just the two of us and we got married in the Bahamas and had our honeymoon all in one. My brother and sister-in-law also got married on a cruise they were on the Princess line and had lots of family to go as well and it made a great vacation for all. The cruise line takes care of everything but your dress and if your guy wants he can even get a tux on board but has to reserve it when you make your reservation. I would say give the cruise lines a call just to start getting some info. I know that Carnival has a wedding specialist that actually handles your event from the time you reserve to make sure everything is planned the way you want it, and once you get on board they also have a wedding specialist to assist you with getting any last minute details taken care of (ours drove us to get our license and helped me get into my dress before the ceremony since I didn't have any attendants. I had a great experience with the whole process.Has anyone here been married on a cruise?
I saw a couple get married on a cruise...along with several hundred other passengers. The couple seemed very embarrassed about the situation but we were all standing in a long line around them. So make sure you have some privacy from little ones screaming they need to go to the bathroom......
The other thing I've seen that didn't impress me was the quality of photographs. I've seen two sets from co-workers and the pictures closely resembled prom pictures. Nothing personal and nothing around the boat. All were just taken in the same area they were married in.
You actually have to get legally married while on U.S. soil but you can have a ceremony on the boat...
