I was wondering, do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married. How much per month is it?Do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married?
no, you dont get paid for being married, the only thing you get is BAH which pays for you to have a place to live.Do army soldiers get any extra money per month for being married?
Separate rations and BAH if they reside off post. If they reside on post, then just the separate rations for food.
Yes you do, but that money is supposed to go toward food and rent (if living off post). Alot of the young soldiers think that all us married guys are rolling in dough, but thats just because they think our BAH (basic allowance for housing) and BAS are all money to use at the bars. BAH is calculated for the area you are stationed. If the cost of living is high where you are stationed, the more BAH you get, also in certain areas you get COLA, basically more money to compensate for very high cost of living
base pay does not increase. BAH is based on duty station zip code and paygrade. There are 2 rates: with and without dependents. once you get married you are entitled to the with dependent rate, even as an E1.
yes and no
The typical unmarried soldiers, who live in the barracks gets around 600 to 700 every 2 weeks. Free meals in the chow hall and don't have to pay rent. The money that they make goes to absoulrtely nothing. Maby a car payment and insurance, internet and cable.
Married soldiers have rent, gas, electric, gas for their vehicle, cable, internet, food for the whole family, diapers, formula, clothing and a host of other things.
Im stationed in Alaska and my pay is just enough to break even.
Seperate rations (Food Money): $228
Rent : $800
Car +Insurance About : $500
Heat :$100
Internet + Cable :$100
Diapers wipes etc. :$100+
Basic Allowance for Housing :$1400
You do the math, being married just costs more, especially with kids. So, it might look like you get paid alot on you check, but the average married soldier has alot more to pay out than the non married . No extra money for the bar, clothes or anything else, just enough to get by. But, Medical, Life Insurance etc. also get taken out of you check just like a single soldier.
In a way, yes. You receive BAH to help pay for a place to live. The amount of BAH you receive depends upon where you live.
you actually get bah which is money to live off post and you also get bas which is seperate rations which is money for food.the amount of money you get depends on what state and city you live in. i was the nco of the orderly room and prepared these documents for soldiers everyday
yes you get an extra 10,000 dollars a month
