Twilight Is Stephanie Meyer a mormon and is her husband married to more than one wife?

Sorry I was just wondering??Twilight Is Stephanie Meyer a mormon and is her husband married to more than one wife?
No - Mormons do not have more than one wife. It is against the law. They get kicked out of the Church if they do that. Stephanie Meyer is a Mormon, and her marriage with her husband is like any other marriage...one husband, one wife.

people like to joke about the Mormons having more than one wife, but it is just a joke and a rumor. Over a hundred years ago, when there were pioneers crossing the plains, and men would die, other men would take on an extra wife and family for the purpose of keeping them safe in the wild territories they had to go through. It was a temporary thing.Twilight Is Stephanie Meyer a mormon and is her husband married to more than one wife?
yea she is mormon.. i am too.

and no mormons dont have more then 1 wife.

thats called flds......

this is a churc that grew off of mormonism.

Stephanie Meyer is Mormon, but Mormons are not polygamists. The phrase ';modern Mormon polygamist'; is a misnomer. Mormons do not practice polygamy. Even in cultures where polygamy is acceptable (some Muslim countries, for example), Mormons NEVER have more than one wife. Any member found to have more than one wife is excommunicated.

Mormons believe polygamy is only acceptable on very rare occasions when God authorizes it (i.e. Abraham, Issac, Jacob, etc.). Otherwise, monogamy is the rule. (This is the message of Jacob 2:27-30 in the Book of Mormon.) Because God commanded Mormons to stop practicing polygamy in 1890, Mormons believe that modern-day polygamists are acting contrary to God's will. It is not that Mormons secretly want to practice polygamy but that the law/social norms/societal pressure prevent them. Mormons sincerely are not interested in practicing polygamy, because God has said it is no longer authorized.

Those that practice polygamy in Utah and Arizona are not Mormons. They belong to separate religions (usually FLDS). Meyers is definitely NOT FLDS.

The mainstream LDS works like this. IF a temple going man is sealed and his wife dies he can remarry (sealed in mormon temple) and have them both in the celestial knigdom, the highest level of mormon heaven. (according to mormonism)

The LDS Church STILL teaches polygamy as a tenet. It is NOT, however, practiced today because of the LAWS against it. That doesn鈥檛 mean it isn鈥檛 a tenet, which of course means IT IS CONDONED. They practice it every day, in Mormon Temples all over the world.

Is it not hypocritical to criticize those practicing POLYGAMY when in fact, many of them (church hierarchy) are practicing SPIRITUAL POLYGAMY even today? THE FLDS practiced it here on earth and ';believe'; it will continue in ';their'; CK....

Plus all the polygamy of the past in mormonism. Joseph Smith and his 34 wives and Brigham Young and his 55 or so wives together forever.. (nice huh)

NOTHING I want a part of!

How would you feel if someone asked you ';Did they catch you cheating on your biology test?'; It is a leading question implying that you cheated but may not have been caught. You did the same thing with your question about Ms. Meyers. It was rude.

Where in the world do you get information on other religions? Do a bit of research first before you type.
First of all, it's stephEnie not stephAnie.

Second of all, yes she is a Mormon.

Third, no her husband does not have more than one wife. He only has the one, Stephenie Meyer.

Not all Mormans practice polygamy, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal in the U.S. anyways.

The Mormons haven't allowed polygamous marriage in over a hundred years. It was part of the conditions for Utah statehood. Only some breakaway sects still do that, and they're usually referred to as cults.
Yes, she is a Mormon and no, she is not a polygamist. Polygamy was denounced by mainstream Mormons a LONG time ago.
Mormons do not and can not practice polygamy. Well over 100 years ago a small minority of them did (less than 5%).

She is LDS and monogamous.
Not all Mormons have multiple wives, I know plenty of Mormons with one wife.
